Glenn Beck’s Show In Irreversible Ratings Decline
Or he's fine, and just had a bad week
May 30th, 2007

Is the “Glenn Beck experiment” a total failure? The CNN Headline News anchor’s ratings are down – his 7pm program was the lowest-rated show from 5pm to midnight in all of cable news (except Tuesday) last week; same goes for his 9pm hour – and, says political blog My Two Sense, “he shows no signs of improving any time soon.”

Or maybe we’re just freaking out over an abnormal week?

That’s the argument by all-things-cable-news blog Inside Cable News, “The thing is Beck is part of a HLN prime that has been nipping at MSNBC???s heels recently. In fact HLN was going through a streak of beating MSNBC in the prime time Demo just a few weeks ago.” (Worth noting: May was, on average, pretty bad all together.)

So what we can add to the conversation? Little, if anything. In our house, Glenn’s show is always preempted by reruns of Nancy Grace’s sympathy mongering. There’s only so much room in our cable news digest for right-wing conspiracy theories, and that honor goes to O’Reilly.
