Oprah sends another staffer to the top

Oprah Winfrey dominates afternoon television, holds the power to make or break a novel and overnight turn an average person into a marketing superstar. She’s done it before (see: Dr. Phil and Rosie Daley) and next fall she’ll do it again with her Lord of Decor, Nate Berkus.
Berkus inked a deal with the publisher Hyperion, which will release his book about home design next autumn. In 1996, Oprah helped trainer Bob Greene sell “Make the Connection” several million times over under Hyperion’s logo.
And when she’s done there, Ms. O plans to release a tell-all titled “Why I Really Put Up With Dr. Phil.”
