Oh look, a glorified NewYorkMetro.com-slash-Craigslist! In what we hope will be the last of its kind (or, more poetically, not even the first of its kind due to some financial backing issues that never let it get off the ground), AskaNewYorker.com is planning its “hard” launch (as opposed to the soft launch, which is the same as a hard launch but without the press release) to broadcast its ability to connect the outside world with insider, authentic New York cred.
It works like this: You login to the site, ask a question intended for New Yorkers, and watch as Staten Island housewives and “straight” Jersey muscleboy clubbers answer your nightlife and ethics questions.
But this is a sham. New Yorkers are people too. They’re not to be poked and prodded and asked to perform silly tricks. That’s what Jersey’s for, and any real New Yorker would know that.
