It’s been 23 years since Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis drove off a cliff and into the hearts of movie goers everywhere in Thelma & Louise.

But the costars remember that iconic film like it was yesterday… and now they’re making sure Internet users do as well.

“Inventors of the #selfie at it again. #ThelmaAndLouise,” Sarandon Tweeted Thursday alongside dual pictures of her posing for a selfie with Davis.

It’s true: The veteran stars really did snap the first-ever famous selfie back in 1991, with Sarandon’s Louise in her signature driving scarf and Davis’ Thelma sporting memorable red curls.

Each earned a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role in the movie, which also introduced the world to a shirtless Brad Pitt.

Any time he wants to snap a selfie of his abs in tribute to Thelma & Louise, we’re guessing women around the world won’t object.
