When the U.S. Olympic team crosses the pond for the London Games later this month they will be sporting outfits designed by Ralph Lauren.

The classic red, white and blue apparel was debuted on TODAY and features a line of exclusive athletic wear that includes a jaunty beret.

Executive V.P. David Lauren, son of the famous designer, revealed that the new togs were “inspired by the 1948 Games, which is the last time that America competed in England.”

At the Olympic opening ceremony the American contingent will be dressed in navy blazers worn over white shirts, white flat front trousers for men and knee length skirts for the women paired with white shoes and accessorized with a red, white and navy striped tie or scarf.

Throughout the games and around the Olympic Village the athletes will be wearing custom designed hoodies and tank tops and carrying sporty duffel bags. Other items include custom beach towels and sunglasses. Suffice it to say, Ralph has it totally covered …
