Barack Obama took the podium at the 2010 White House Correspondents Dinner and hurled zingers that were quite entertaining. Many felt he upstaged the headliner Jay Leno who does this sort of thing for a living.

The above photo was used as part of Obama’s one-liners. He said, “But as I’ve said during the campaign, we can’t just talk to our friends, we’ve got to talk to our enemies too and that’s just what I’ve been doing.” At that point the picture was flashed on an overhead screen.

The prez said at one point: “I wasn’t sure I should actually come tonight. Biden talked me into it. He leaned over to me and said, ‘Mr. President, this is no ordinary dinner, this is a big BLEEP-ing meal.'” The joke was of course a nod to Joe’s recent F-bomb faux paux while Obama was signing the Health Care bill into law.

Another that got lots of laughs was, “Its been quite a year since I’ve spoken here last. Lots of ups, lots of downs, expect for my approval ratings, which have just gone down. But that’s politics, it doesn’t bother me. Besides, I happen to know that my approval ratings are still very high in the country of my birth.”

Check out the video below that was provided by the White House, showing Obama and Leno trading jokes:

The National Enquirer has been trying to stir up trouble for Obama – claiming that he and former campaign aide Vera Baker carried on an affair. Details and photos here.
