The calm before the storm …
Things got a little tense on the plaza this morning at Rockefeller Center. Meredith Vieira, Al Roker and Willie Geist were chatting it up in front of an early morning crowd during an on-air Today Show segment when chaos erupted.
Vieira was doing a promo for an upcoming interview featuring Mackenzie Phillips when a man, shouting that he was God’s gift to music, hurled himself over the barricade directly behind the three on-air anchors.
Vieira can be heard screaming “Oh, Jesus” before the shot was cut.
