Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., aka Snoop Dogg has gone reggae with a new album titled ‘Reincarnated.’ He’s also trying out a new moniker … Snoop Lion.

The entertainer told a reporter, “I have always said I was Bob Marley reincarnated. I could never become Snoop Lion if I wasn’t Snoop Dogg first.”

Snoop claims he had an epiphany while filming a documentary in Jamaica that will be debut with his new tracks at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The 40-year-old rapper explains, “I didn’t want to be Snoop Dogg on a reggae track. I wanted to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion, but I didn’t know that until I went to the temple and received the name Snoop Lion from the Nyabingi priest.”

His nearly 10 million rap fans can still follow their guy on his Snoop Dogg Twitter page. By contrast, the new Snoop Lion Twitter page is slowly beginning to catch on with 13,000 fans last time we checked.
