Sharon Osbourne claims the real reason she is leaving the hit NBC show ‘America’s Got Talent’ is because the network fired her son Jack Osbourne days before he was to begin filming a new reality show.
According to the ‘AGT’ judge, her son Jack, 26, was notified by e-mail two days before filming was to begin for ‘Stars Earn Stripes.’ The message indicated that he hadn’t passed the physical requirements and therefore would not be extended a contract to appear on the show.
‘The Talk’ host was up in arms over their decision, claiming discrimination based on his recent multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
The network reportedly tried to make things right by offering Jack two “substantial alternative roles” on the show but he declined both.
NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt issued a statement Monday: “‘Stars Earn Stripes’ requires dangerous water stunts, strenuous physical activity, and uses live ammunition. We have the deepest affection for Sharon Osbourne and consider her to be part of the NBC family. And our hearts go out to her, Ozzy, Jack and his family at this time.”
Sharon remains under contract with NBC and plans to finish out the season according to her latest tweet:
Jack and his fiancee, Lisa Stelly, have a daughter, Pearl Clementine, born on April 24, 2012.
