Shania engaged to the ex-husband of her ex’s lover…
Congratulations to Shania Twain on her engagement to Swiss businessman Frederic Thiebaud. The two have been tight-lipped regarding their status for a couple of months but the word has finally gotten out.
Shania received a three-karat diamond engagement ring two months ago. She and Thiebaud started out as friends who leaned on each other after discovering that their spouses, Robert “Mutt” Lange and Marie-Anne Thiebaud, were carrying on an affair.
They officially became a couple in August 2009. She wrote in her blog: “A dear friend and true gentleman by the name of Fred, has been the most constant companion of support for both Eja and me, and having gone through the suffering of his family splitting apart at the same time under the same extreme circumstances, he understood me better than anyone.”
Twain’s divorce became final in June 2010. She has a son Eja, and he has a daughter Johanna. No wedding date has been revealed.
The country musician will have her own TV show on Oprah’s soon-to-be launched cable network OWN. The show will be called Why Not? With Shania Twain.
