Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds quietly separated six months ago and the news is just now being revealed. The couple wed in September 2008 and are now heading for a divorce.
Johansson, 26, initiating the split, moved into her own New York City apartment. They issued a joint statement: “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
Reynolds, 34, was recently named People magazine’s 2010 ‘Sexiest Man Alive‘. Not to be outdone, Scarlett was named ‘Babe of the Year‘ by GQ.
