Turning 80 and calling it a career …
The time has apparently come for 79-year-old Regis Philbin to retire. The talk show host announced that at the conclusion of this season’s Live With Regis & Kelly season, he will bow out.
His run on daytime television spanned 28 years and included a successful run on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The final Regis & Kelly show will be taped sometime this summer. The Bronx native will turn 80 on August 25.
Philbin has managed to keep himself looking relatively young thanks to cosmetic surgery. Check out then and now photos of Regis and his lovely wife Joy Philbin.
This situation begs the question — who will be the new Kelly Ripa sidekick? She has fantastic chemistry with Anderson Cooper. Time will tell…
