Rapper DMX was arrested Thursday in Phoenix, Arizona for allegedly violating his parole by using cocaine and OxyContin, failing to submit to drug testing and driving on a suspended license.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has been in prison twice this year and was most recently released in August after serving 18 days of a 90-day sentence stemming from a reckless driving conviction in 2002.

This is the rapper’s sixth arrest in ten years; he has racked up arrests and stints in the slammer for crimes including theft, drug possession and animal cruelty.

DMX is being held without bail until a probation-revocation hearing scheduled on November 24.

“He just didn’t check in with his probation officer, and it’s just a matter of him not following the rules,” manager Nakia Walker said.

I can’t tell you why he makes the decisions to do the things that he does. Other than that, there’s no real excuse for it. When you don’t follow the rules, there’s consequences,” she added.
