In what shaped up to be ‘Peace Train’ meets ‘Crazy Train’, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert presided over a lighthearted, star-studded rally on the National Mall Saturday — filmed by Comedy Central.

The raucous and at times hilarious Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear also carried an underlying message about American’s turning their backs on hate and working together to make the world a better place.

Stewart and Colbert staged a mock battle, with Jon supporting peace and sanity, while Colbert promoted fear from his bunker. He ascended to the stage in a device like the one that transported the trapped Chilean miners, dressed as a superhero.

SNL character Father Guido Sarducci, played by comedian Don Novello, provided a benediction. Law & Order actor Sam Waterston read a poem entitled Are You Sure?

Cat Stevens performed Peace Train and Ozzie Osbourne rocked Crazy Train. Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow also entertained the crowd.
