Actress Portia de Rossi has filed a petition to legally change her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres.
Portia, who has been married to Ellen DeGeneres since August 16, 2008, filed the papers in L.A. County Superior Court last Friday.
The court documents state the reason for the name change request is, “Petitioner is taking the last name of her spouse.”
