Ryan Buell, star of A&E’s reality show Paranormal State, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
30-year-old Buell, who has been updating fans about his struggles with the disease on his Facebook page, was released from treatment Wednesday morning. “Things are looking positive after complications with his kidneys started a month ago and temporarily knocked him down,” his staff wrote on his page.
Buell, founder of the Paranormal Research Society, has been in and out of the hospital over the summer. Through his Facebook page, Ryan reminds fans he is not alone in his struggle with pancreatic cancer.
“There are those who have struggled with this disease for years, those who are diagnosed every day and those within the support network surrounding them,” a member of his staff posted. “Ryan knows he is loved and supported, and would want for that love and support to stretch beyond this community.”
Pancreatic cancer, which was responsible for the deaths of Steve Jobs and Patrick Swayze, claims the lives of thousands of people each year.
