Kim Kardashian has issued a message on her website in an attempt to prevent a grass roots effort calling for fans to boycott the season finale of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ on E! set the air this Sunday.

The reality celeb caused a firestorm with a recent British tabloid interview when she likened her marriage disaster to the struggles of cancer patients.

While talking about the backlash that she experienced after filing for divorce, she used a real-life example to illustrate her point: “I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She’s 18. And I was like, that’s how I feel.”

The public outcry was immediate. One fan tweeted, “Kim Kardashian you have your HEALTH. Comparing your divorce to cancer is DISGUSTING.”

Another lamented, “Kim Kardashian said going through her divorce is like going through cancer. Seriously … #getreal.”
