Singer Kelis has filed legal papers asking the judge to grant her a divorce from Nas “as soon as possible”.
Kelis Rogers and Nasir Jones were married in 2003 and have been embroiled in a bitter divorce battle since she filed just months before the birth of their son Knight in July.
In July 2009, Nas was ordered to pay $30,471 monthly in spousal support and $9,027 in child support and earlier this month Nas was back in court and ordered by a Los Angeles judge to pay $290,000 in late payments.
The former couple is still working out final details of the divorce settlement but Kelis declared in papers filed last week it would be “in the best interest of both of us if our marital status is terminated as soon as possible.”
She also states, “I believe there is no possibility of reconciliation with (Nas).”
