Johnny Depp and Lady Gaga claimed the top spots in the new ‘Most Powerful Entertainers’ poll.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who magazine editors say is such a mega-star he can “do anything he wants to,” takes top honors on the Entertainment Weekly list.
Depp’s films have chalked up $5.9 billion globally, not including cameo and animated roles.
Pop-star Lady Gaga grabs the number two spot on the list thanks in part to her 5.1 million album sales in the past two years.
Oprah Winfrey finishes third with Simon Cowell and Will Smith rounding out the top five.
Also landing in the top ten are Robert Downey, Jr., Sandra Bullock, Leonardo DiCaprio and Eminem.
In a related poll, Sam Worthington and Daniel Radcliffe have been named the ‘Highest-Grossing Movie Stars Under-40.’
Worthington takes top honors on that list since his three films — Avatar, Clash of the Titans and Terminator Salvation – have earned a total of $1 billion, making his box office average $349.6 million .
Radcliff’s role as Harry Potter in the Harry Potter franchise earned the second spot with an average $244.7 million per movie at the box office.
Twilight stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson also make it into the top five, along with Will Smith’s teenage son Jaden.
Orlando Bloom, Shia LaBeouf, Tobey Maguire, Hayden Christensen and Worthington’s Avatar co-star Zoe Saldana complete the top 10 of the ‘under-40’ gang.
