John Mayer is being sued for allegedly receiving money from a fraudulent investment scheme.

Trustees in charge of recovering money from a $100 million Ponzi scheme run by notorious criminal Frederick Darren Berg have targeted Mayer for as much as $465,000 in dirty money he received from a booking agency allegedly paid by Berg’s company.

Grabow & Associates, an agency that specializes in booking entertainment for corporate and private events, set up an appearance by the singer in 2008.

According to Mayer’s attorney, “John Mayer performed at a corporate event in 2008 and was paid for his services. The opportunity was brought to John through his talent agency, CAA.”

There has been no ruling on the case.
