George Michael will do jail time for charges stemming from a July 4th car crash.
The 47-year-old singer plead guilty to possession of marijuana and driving under the influence after crashing his car into a photo store in London.
Michael appeared in court Tuesday, where the judge reprimanded him for taking a “dangerous and unpredictable mix” of prescription drugs and marijuana, and sentenced him to eight weeks in jail, revoked his license for five years, and fined him $1930.
“It does not appear that you took proper steps to deal with what is clearly an addiction to cannabis,” the judge said. “That’s a mistake which puts you and, on this occasion, the public at risk.”
Michael will have to serve four weeks of the sentence in prison and the rest on parole.
