George Clooney will co-produce, direct and star in a World War II dramatic thriller titled ‘The Monuments Men,’ set to begin filming on March 1, 2013 in Europe.
The Hollywood A-Lister had no trouble coaxing a star-studded cast to sign on for the project.
Co-stars include Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin and John Goodman.
They will portray a crew of art historians and museum curators who unite during the final stages of the war to recover valuable art works stolen by the Nazis before Adolf Hitler can destroy the priceless renderings.
Clooney has been an actor since 1978. In the past five years the 51-year-old has received Academy Award nominations in the Best Actor category for ‘Michael Clayton,’ ‘Up in the Air’ and ‘The Descendants.’
