Celine Dion gave birth to twin boys on Saturday, October 23, 2010. The babies were born prematurely via cesarean section at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The fraternal twins were born at 11:11 a.m. and 11:12 a.m., weighing 5 pounds 10 ounces, and 5 pounds 4 ounces. Their names have not yet been revealed.
The singer’s obstetrician, Dr. Ronald Ackerman, announced the birth of the healthy infants and called Dion and her husband Rene Angelil “the most caring and kind individuals that the hospital has seen.”
The songstress checked into the hospital on October 16. The medical goal was to keep the expectant mother from going into labor until the first week in November, when she would have achieved 37 weeks gestation for her twin sons.
The couple have a 9-year-old son Rene Charles.
Celine will be heading back to Vegas in March 2011 to begin a three year engagement featuring 70 shows per year.
