Bret Michaels appeared on Oprah, from his home in Arizona, for an emotional interview on Wednesday, his first since suffering a brain hemorrhage on April 12, 2010.

He told the talk show host that he is increasing his rehab to twice a day because he is still having trouble moving his legs and he still has neck stiffness. He is also plagued by frequent headaches. The good news, according to Michaels, is that “each day gets better.”

In addition to appearing on Oprah, Bret has another ‘must attend’ gig coming up on NBC Sunday. He and Holly Robinson Peete are the final two competing for the title of Celebrity Apprentice. The winner will get $250K for their charity. Bret is playing for the American Diabetes Association, a charity near and dear to his heart because he has suffered from the disease since childhood and one of his daughters was recently diagnosed as well.

Oprah remarked that hospital pictures of the musician showed him with his signature bandana in place. He told her he figured, “If I’m going out, I want to go out rockin’.”

The musician is contemplating marriage with Kristi Lynn Gibson, the mother of his two daughters, Raine and Jorja. There relationship has reportedly evolved since his recent hospitalization. They live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
