Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale cover the October 2010 issue of Seventeen magazine
Alyson Michalka and Ashley Tisdale star in the new CW cheerleading drama “Hellcats,” based on the book “Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders” by Kate Torgovnick.
Michalka plays the role of Marti Perkins, a law student at Lancer University, who discovers that her scholarship has been canceled and her well-meaning but irresponsible mother, Wanda, has neglected to inform her. Broke and out of options, Marti realizes the only way she can stay in school is to win a place on the Hellcats – Lancer’s legendary cheer squad – and the scholarship that comes with it.
Tisdale plays Savannah Monroe, the captain of the Hellcats. Described as “peppy and petite” with “fierce intensity”, she initially clashes with Marti, but realizes she is the godsend the Hellcats need to win the championship.
Michalka is best known as part of the pop duo Aly & AJ (AJ is sister Amanda). Tisdale is known for her role as Sharpay Evans in Disney’s High School Musical franchise.
