Daniel Bark received a four-count grand jury indictment on Thursday July 8, 2010, stemming from the 2009 hit and run death of former American Idol contestant Alexis Cohen. The 25-year-old woman died on July 25, 2009 in Seaside Heights, N.J. after being struck by the Toms River, N.J. man.

The 24-year-old suspect was fleeing police as a result of an earlier car accident when he struck Cohen, causing her fatal head and torso injuries. He fled the scene without rendering assistance or alerting authorities. He was apprehended the next day.

The indictment charges Bark with aggravated manslaughter, death by auto, eluding police and knowingly leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death. He remains jailed on $150,000 bail.

Cohen, dubbed ‘Glitter Girl’, auditioned for Season 7 and 8 of American Idol, and gained notoriety when she flipped off judge Simon Cowell during her angry rejection rant. The Youtube video went viral.
