Twitter has released it's 2012 "Golden Tweets" which included the posts that were the most retweeted.
So, what were the top tweets in 2012?
No. 1 was President Barack Obama's "Four more years." Obama marked his reelection on Twitter before taking the stage to affirm his victory. Within hours, his tweet became the most retweeted of 2012, as well as the most retweeted ever, with 810,000+ retweets and 800,000+ favorites by people in more than 200 countries around the world.
No. 2 was Justin Bieber's tribute to a fan. 6-year-old Avalanna Routh, who affectionately became known as "Mrs. Bieber" across the world, suffered from a rare form of brain cancer and became close to the pop star during her illness. When she lost her battle to cancer in September, Bieber tweeted, "RIP Avalanna. i love you," which was retweeted 220,000+ times and favorited 100,000+ times by Twitter Beliebers all over the world.
Twitter's year in review includes the "Pulse of the planet," which were the biggest conversations of the year revolving around events that generated a large number of tweets and retweets, including the summer Olympics, the U.S. election, and super storm Sandy.
