Two-time Olympic gold medal-winning soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo and former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens got married in Snohomish, Washington on Tuesday, the day after he was arrested for suspected fourth degree domestic assault.

Sports-radio 950 AM and 102.9 FM radio host Dave Mahler confirmed the news via Twitter:

The couple applied for a marriage license last Thursday, a mere two months after they began dating. On Monday they got into a heated argument about where they would live after the wedding. He wanted to reside in Florida and she expected to remain in her home state of Washington.

Police, responding to a 911 call initiated by Marcus Solo, found him with blood on his forehead and a bruise under his eye. His sibling Hope had blood on her elbow but refused to say how she got it. She tried to silence her brother when he was giving a statement to police. Several times she pleaded, “Don’t say anything to them Marcus.”

Officers found Stevens hiding behind an bed in an upstairs room. He was arrested and booked at the Kirkland police station and was arraigned Tuesday morning in a municipal courtroom with his soon-to-be wife on hand to support him.

The judge decided that there wasn’t enough evidence to hold the football player and he was released so that he could go home to get ready for his evening nuptials.

This isn’t the NFL free agent’s first brush with the law. The former Seattle Seahawk and Tampa Bay Buccaneer has previously been arrested for possession of marijuana, reckless driving, hit-and-run, and sexual assault.
