Kristen Stewart issued a public apology for her affair with director Rupert Sanders.

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” Stewart said after news of her infidelity with the Snow White and the Huntsman director broke.

Stewart, 22, has been in a relationship with her Twilight costar Robert Pattinson, 26, for nearly four years.

Sanders, the 41-year-old married director, also issued his own statement, apologizing to his wife, Liberty Ross, 33, and his two children.

“I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family,” Sanders told PEOPLE magazine. “My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”

Ross, an actress and model, appeared as a young Stewart’s mother in Snow White and the Huntsman. Yesterday she tweeted, “Wow,” after the Us Weekly cover with photo evidence of Stewart and Sanders’ affair hit the internet. (See photos below) “sometimes bad things fall apart so better things can fall together,” she then tweeted. She has since deleted her Twitter account.
