Joan Rivers made some controversial comments about Sarah Palin and as a result lost out on a planned Thursday appearance on FOX & Friends.

The comedian, known for her uncensored opinion, promptly threw a zinger at FOX News, saying they can “go f**k themselves.”

She got things percolating with comments made at a Critic’s Choice Awards party in Hollywood over the weekend. She told TMZ that political pundits were right to blame Sarah Palin for the tragedy in Tucson. She used the words “stupid and a threat” to blast Palin for her “blood libel” video statement on January 12.

The news network denied that they canceled Joan and Melissa over Palin comments. They stated that they were simply overbooked — and erred in calling it a cancellation rather than immediately rescheduling the gig. They say the women are always welcome on the show.

Rivers said she is willing to take a lie detector test to prove otherwise. Daughter Melissa claims there is no question that it was retaliation: “We get a call this morning. You’re canceled on FOX because of what you said about Sarah Palin.”

The ladies appeared last night on The Joy Behar Show to talk about their new reality show and the debacle. Check out the video below:
