Barbara Walters sat down for an in-depth interview with Oprah Winfrey last night during an ABC special Oprah The Next Chapter.
The daytime talk show maven talked about her long time partner Stedman Graham: “He is the love, the lover, the man, the partner, the mate… I cannot say that I know of another man on this planet who could have lived this life with such dignity, grace and respect… and still hold his own and be his own.”
O discussed her relationship with best friend Gayle King and was brought to tears: “She is the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don’t know a better person. It’s making me cry because I’m thinking I probably never told her that.”
Winfrey’s next big venture will be starting the OWN network. She admits it wakes her up at night and causes her to sit bolt upright while clutching her chest. She has experienced real fear at the daunting task of beginning something so monumental.
