Rapper T.I. is heading back to prison after his probation was revoked by a federal judge today. He will spend the next 11 months behind bars after violating the terms of his probation. He left prison in March after serving one year on a weapons charge.
The musician and his wife Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle were arrested on September 2 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. When stopped by police, he had ecstasy in the car and tested positive for opiates. The rapper tried to persuade the judge to send him to drug treatment instead of prison but was unsuccessful.
Earlier this week T.I. convinced a suicidal man not to jump from the roof of a high-rise apartment building in Atlanta. An officer who was present during Wednesday’s incident appeared in court to speak on T.I.’s behalf. His testimony held no sway with the judge.
The rapper has two weeks to get his affairs in order and turn himself in.
