Willow Smith is following in the footsteps of her famous parents and is on her way to becoming a star in her own right. This week she released her first single Whip My Hair and has just landed a record deal with rap superstar Jay Z‘s record label Roc Nation.
She joined her new boss for an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show today. The Hip Hop star had nothing but good things to say about Will and Jada‘s daughter. “I heard the record first before I even knew that it was recorded by a 9-year-old. I was like “Man, that record is a smash.”
“Then they told me that it was Will and Jada’s daughter and I was like ‘Whoa Whoa!’ Then I was in Japan doing some things and they were all in Japan so I met Willow and she walked in and the first thing she says was ‘I’m really nervous.’ I thought that maturity, explaining exactly how she was feeling when she walked in the room. I believe in superstars. I believe in big records and big superstars and I believe that she has both!”
He continued: “We all danced to Michael Jackson records from when he was 8-years-old. Stevie Wonder started at 8. It’s just what it is, it’s who she is.” Check out the entire interview HERE
