TLC has added an interesting new series to their fall lineup. Sister Wives will feature a fundamentalist Mormon family with one husband, his four wives and thirteen children.

Kody Brown lives in Utah with his wives Meri, Janelle, Christine, and soon-to-be wife Robyn. Actually his marriage to Meri is the only “legal” union. He explains that the rest are “commitment marriages”. They all live in one home that is divided into separate apartment spaces, where each wife resides with her children.

The group appeared on a panel at the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles on Friday to field questions about why they have agreed to allow viewers into their private lives.

Kody said: “I felt like the secretiveness of the society has been a little bit dangerous for the society, as well as the public. This is part of our reason for essentially coming out. This is a story that needs to be told. I think that by simply telling this story and not getting into prejudices it actually helps the society to understand.”
