Frank Sinatra: Grandson of Crooner Attempts Suicide

Legendary singer Frank Sinatra's grandson Frank Sinatra III tried to end his life on Monday evening by taking a large quantity of pills.

Paramedics were called to the Los Angeles home of the 32-year-old victim.  Police revealed that the incident happened around 5:00 p.m..  Frank III is currently being treated at Downey Regional Medical Center near Long Beach.  His condition is unknown and family members have gathered at the hospital.

Frank's Aunt Dorothy spoke with People magazine and said that he is "doing ok" and that he "had a big setback."  She went on to say that he has been having issues lately but doctors think he will pull through.

His father Frank Sinatra Jr.  was kidnapped back in 1963 when he was 19 and was returned 2 days later, after his father paid a ransom of $240,000 -- a substantial sum of money nearly 50 years ago.  At first authorities were suspicious that Sinatra Sr. had fabricated the story to help his son's music career.  They later arrested and prosecuted several suspects who were sent to prison.
