Rumors have been running rampant this week, and they allege that NBC Today Show host Matt Lauer has split from his wife Annette Roque because she discovered he was having an affair.
The 52-year-old father of three has reportedly been out of the family home for the past two months. The alleged cheating is said to have taken place while Lauer was covering the Winter Olympics in Vancouver between February 9-26. He is reported to have partied and flirted with a number of women, including two Canadian broadcasters. He also allegedly delayed his return, opting not to travel back to New York with the Today Show crew.
A woman who has been tentatively linked to the television personality is Alexis Houston, half-sister of singer Whitney Houston.
Her website bio indicates she has had success writing and recording jingles for several major ad campaigns including: AT&T, Diet Coke and McDonald’s. She has also scored music for Nickelodeon’s hit show ‘Tomorrow’s Children’ and FOX show ‘New York Undercover’. She has also been an assistant musical director, and arranger for tours of various artists.
Houston’s rep told TMZ: “The allegations regarding Ms Houston and Mr. Lauer are false. If they have met at the Today Show, in the past, that would be the extent of their interaction. However, Ms Houston has never had any sort of relationship with Mr. Lauer and does not even recall meeting him.”
The Twitter page of Alexis Houston carries this statement posted three hours ago: “Our official statement is that the allegations regarding Ms. Houston are totally false. All’s Well Music, LLC.”
