After almost seven years of marriage James Van Der Beek and his wife Heather Ann McComb will officially be divorced on June 3rd. The couple filed last November but sources say they actually parted ways in July. McComb will walk away from the marriage with her new found freedom and a whole lot of money.
The Dawson’s Creek star was ordered to pay his soon-to-be ex-wife nearly $8,000 per month in spousal support until the end of 2012. OUCH! Van Der Beek didn’t come up completely empty handed, he was able to keep their home as well as residuals from his acting jobs, screenplays, and stories written during their marriage.
Sure $8K sounds like a lot of money to us everyday people, but James will be just fine because he reportedly rakes in $35,000 a month!
Ahhh, Hollywood marriages just don’t seem to last these days! The smart celebs make sure they are covered by prenuptial agreements, which is good for the one with the money and not so good for partners that bring nothing to the union except love.
