Ashton Kutcher has grounded himself from any more free-wheeling Twitter banter with the 8,272,395 followers who hang on every utterance of @aplusk.
To coin a phrase from Oprah, Kutcher’s Aha! Moment occurred earlier today when he posted a knee-jerk response to the news that Penn State football coach Joe Paterno had been fired.
The Two and a Half Men star tweeted, “How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste.”
It didn’t take long before AK got a comeuppance regarding the sex scandal that has rocked Penn State. He removed the first tweet and did some damage control by saying, “Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn’t have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes.”
He added, “As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn State case. Honestly just had half facts man my bad … I need 2b more responsible 4 my voice.”
Kutcher was so disgusted with himself that he has decided to turn over his Twitter feed to his team at Katalyst Media “to insure the quality of it’s content.”
