Earlier this month, Jana Kramer found topless photos on her husband’s phone. Worse, it looked like he had tried to hide it.

If you’ve been following Mike Caussin’s alleged struggle with sex addiction, you understand why this set off major alarm bells.

Now, Jana and Mike are explaining how that topless photo happened and what they’re doing while moving forward.

Mike Caussin appeared along with his wife on the Tamron Hall Show to discuss this recent hiccup in their marriage.

"So we actually had some friends in town, and we were about to go out on a date night with a couple other couples," Mike begins, setting the scene.

"And I received this text message from a woman who didn’t have any clothes on," he describes.

She was topless "and saying that she was in town nearby and if we wanted to get together."

"And I didn’t recognize the number, not the person, anything,” Mike shared. That’s something, at least.

“And in that moment, I panicked and I was just like, I don’t know what this is, I have no idea who this person is," Mike continues his tale.

He adds: "I have so much shame behind my past and the things I’ve done, but I know I’m not doing anything now."

"I just don’t want a part of it," Mike expresses, explaining why he opted to simply delete the message.

"Even though knowing in that moment," he admits. "What I should have done was come to Jana and be like, ‘Hey, I just received this, I don’t know what it is, but here it is.’"

Not every husband would automatically show his wife a random nude sent to him. But Mike is devoted to being honest with Jana.

Jana Kramer explained that she found the nude the hard way — on Mike’s Apple Watch, where it had survived deletion.

She reveals: "I was like, ‘Oh my God it’s happening again, how?’ and ‘I’m so stupid’."

"One of our things is, after infidelity, you set kind of boundaries and things that we are following together,” she spells out.

“And one of the things is deleting," Jana shares.

"For me, since discovery three and a half years ago, things have come up, and it’ll be like, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’" she recalls.

Jana adds: "And so it’s like the discovery is what hurts the most, whether the act was done or not."

Did you notice that the message that Mike received looked suspiciously like a more sophisticated version of "horny singles in your area want to bang?"

That was not a coincidence.

Jana says that she did her research and found that the message that Mike had received was from a bot.

These bots, more common on social media sites, are designed to appear like real people in order to solicit engagement.

"I trust him today,” Jana announces. “And that’s what I always say."

"I can’t think about yesterday or the day before or the past because that’s mucky," she admits.

Jana continues: "But today, he’s showing up, he’s a great husband, he’s a great dad today, and today I trust him."

Well, that’s more than some married couples can say.
