In late September, 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way fans learned of Deavan Clegg's pregnancy ... without her ever announcing it.
It was too soon to announce, but the public learned after someone she had trusted leaked her pregnancy after she sought advice.
Now, Deavan has revealed that she has suffered a miscarriage.
Very late Tuesday night, Deavan took to Instagram to address a question that fans have been sending her way for over a week.
"A lot of people have been asking if I am pregnant," Deavan begins.
She acknowledges that "I haven’t addressed this head on yet."
Previously, she has only called out the people who leaked the news that she was making inquiries.
"I want to first start off by saying, thank you so much for your support and love," Deavan expresses.
You always know that someone has sad news to report when they take several sentences to make the announcement.
"With heavy hearts we have to announce sad news," Deavan writes.
"Last Monday," she reveals. "We did end up losing our baby."
Oh no. A tragedy compounded by the fact that it was just after someone leaked the news of her pregnancy.
"We are heart broken," Deavan shares. "And focusing on healing."
Then, if you can imagine, Deavan felt the need to apologize to her fans.
"I want to apologize for not telling anyone sooner," she expresses.
No! There is no need to apologize!
"But," she explains. "We needed this time to heal as a family."
Of course they did! And they will continue to need to do so.
"A lot of people go through this," Deavan makes sure to acknowledge.
She recognizes that she is not alone in suffering a miscarriage "and we feel for so many people "
One in five pregnancies results in a miscarriage, but some happen so early that they are mistaken for late, heavy period flows.
Deavan continues: "And wish everyone who has suffered through this same situation happiness and healing."
It is so inspirational to see that, even now, she is thinking of others.
She really is a sweet, compassionate person.
Deavan and Jihoon are still processing this loss, but they're doing it together.
"We are healing and doing better," Deavan informs her fans and followers.
Then, she wants to express her gratitude to her fans and followers for their emotional support.
She concludes: "and want to thank everyone for your support during this very difficult time."
The message is signed "Deavan and Jihoon," and includes an ultrasound photo.
Jihoon's pregnancy was only public knowledge because she had looked for answers and advice in a private Facebook group.
She had held concerns about delivering a baby in South Korea -- as both Drascilla and Taeyang were born in the US.
At the time when the news leaked, Deavan expressed that she was not ready to discuss the pregnancy.
Some fans assumed that she was simply angry that it had leaked, or wanted to tell her family first.
We now know that she was grappling with the tragic news of this miscarriage.
Our thoughts are with Deavan and Jihoon and their families in this time of mourning and healing.
And we here at THG are not the only ones whose hearts go out to this couple.
"So sorry for your loss," one fan comments. "Sending love and prayers."
"Heartbroken for you," another writes. "You guys are my favorites and i hope this keeps your hamily even closer together."
"That’s super sad," a follower expresses. "What’s even more sad is that you have to defend yourself to the world and people on Instagram about this."
No one should have their pregnancy news exposed before they've even told friends and family.
Especially when it could end in heartbreak like this, just days later.
Fans wanted to make sure that Deavan knows that she is not alone.
"I’m so sorry," a fan writes, adding: "I’ve gone through that and know how painful it is."
"We been threw that and know how tough it is," another commenter affirms. "Your rainbow baby will come when the times right."
But only when, and if, Deavan and Jihoon are ready.
