It took nearly 10 seasons and many years, but we can finally say bravo to Bravo.
Because the network just announced that it has hired its first-ever African-American cast member for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
On Thursday afternoon, executives confirmed that Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke were coming on board the beloved franchise, with the former new reality star making a milestone for the franchise.
Beauvais -- whose acting resume includes The Jamie Foxx Show, NYPD Blue and Spider-Man: Homecoming, -- expressed her enthusiasm to be the first black Housewife on this program in a statement to the network’s Daily Dish.
This is what she said:
I am excited and proud to be joining the cast of such a wildly popular and beloved show like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As a working actor who has been in the industry for some time, it’s exhilarating to have the opportunity to delve into a new chapter in the entertainment spectrum.
As the first African American Housewife in the Beverly Hills franchise, I am honored and humbled by this awesome opportunity to exemplify the fact that Black Girl Magic lives and thrives in every zip code!
Already being intimately familiar with the spotlight of Hollywood, my journey of successes and trials has already been chronicled and shared with my many loyal supporters around the world.
The continual encouragement, support and yes, even at times, criticism, have helped make me the dynamic woman I am today.
As for Stracke?
She is a good friend of Lisa Rinna's.
She is also a respected party planner and hostess who, in 2017, was named one of the top 100 party planners by The Salonniere.
Yes, that really is an honor one can win.
Moreover, Stracke is opening her fashion store called SUTTON, selling clothing, jewelry and handbags.
So this is the ideal marketing situation for her and her brand.
Stracke is raising a teenage daughter named Porter and two teenage sons named James and Philip; she's married to Christian Stracke and, together, the pair were given the Philanthropic Visionary award at the PSLA gal.
They've become renowned for their charity work.
Sutton also spoke to The Daily Dish about her upcoming new role, stating the following:
I am thrilled and honored to be joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. As a mother to three children who is also deeply committed to my efforts in philanthropy, my life is a balancing act.
There is a lot going on in the best way possible and I strive to pursue all of my passions to the fullest.
I am excited to share my true loves of art and fashion design, and open the doors to my world. I am looking forward to this ride and where this journey takes me.
Fun times ahead for this Southern Belle in Southern California.
Stracke and Beauvais will join Rinna, Kyle Richards, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, Dorit Kemsley, Denise Richards, and Erika Girardi on the series.
Bravo has not yet announced a premiere date for Season 10, but look for new episodes to start airing some time in 2020.
What do you think of these brand new additions?
