Lindsie Chrisley is scared for her own safety.
She's afraid to may come under attack.
And she's concern that the pepetrators of this attack will be... members of her own family.
Or someone hired by a member of her family, we suppose.
According to TMZ, Lindsie is paying $130 per hour for an armed security guard to remain by her side at pretty much all times these days.
The security guard is an off-duty police officer and Lindsie feels his presence is necessary due to her past with her family... the present problems plaguing this family... and a frightening, unknown future.
It all started early last week when Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted by a federal grand jury on 12 counts of tax evasion and financial fraud.
They have since entered a plea of not guilty and the lead stars of Chrisley Knows Best on USA Network have since alleged that a bitter ex-employee has set them up.
As for Lindsie?
She is best known these days for a podcast with Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry.
She left the aforementioned reality series in 2017 and, through a represenative, she issued a statement last week that reads as follows:
Lindsie has been a constant target of lies, harassment and threats from her family and as a result, has been distancing herself from the Chrisley family since 2017.
To what is this referring?
Multiple outlets have confirmed that Lindsie filed a police report in June -- claiming at the time that her brother and her dad were in possession of a sex tape she made and were threatening to release it unless Lindsie helped them cover up Todd's financial crimes.
For real. This is the allegation.
In response, Todd has denied such an extortion claim...
... but he's done so in a message that outed his own child for allegedly sleeping with married men from Bachelor Nation.
Again: for real. This is the allegation.
"It's heartbreaking and shameful that these kinds of accusations have to be aired in public," Todd said a few days ago of Lindsie, actually adding at the time:
"We have tried to keep Lindsie's extramarital relationships with [Bachelor Nation stars] Robby Hayes and Josh Murray private for her sake since August of 2016.
"Sadly, for reasons we can only guess at, she ran to the sheriff's office to accuse her brother of buying a sex tape of her and Robby, which was a complete lie, and now she's telling more lies about me.
"Although our hearts are broken, Lindsie is our daughter and we will always love her."
Speaking to a TMZ cameraman this week, Lindsie explained why she now has security.
"I just think that any time that something like this goes on within a family and things that have gone on in the past week, that it’s important for me to protect my safety and for my child,” she said.
Sound a bit extreme?
Not really, once you consider the following two facts:
- Kyle Chrisley was arrested in 2012 for allegedly hitting his sister.
- As part of lengthy, semi-incoherent statement last week in support of Todd, Kyle Chrisley said the following about Lindsie: "Karma is a bitch…revenge is a complete monster and I’m coming."
You know, it's almost as if Todd Chrisley doesn't know best.
And almost as though USA should be dragged and called out non-stop for ever giving this family a reality show.
