Cole De Boer is widely regarded as the most likable of all the baby daddies in the Teen Mom franchise, and it’s not hard to see why.
Granted, the rest of the guys set the bar pretty low, but Cole would likely stand out on a series that was less populated with doofuses and deadbeats.
After Adam Lind did his best to grind Chelsea Houska’s soul into dust, Cole stepped in and proved to be the ideal husband, father, and stepfather.
And now, it looks as though he can add saving his wife’s life to his long list of achievements.
Earlier this week, Houska stunned her Twitter followers when she revealed that she had recently suffered a near-death experience.
Fortunately, the story has a happy ending, as Cole was on hand to intervene.
"So I want to share something that’s probably going to seem really random… but I feel like I can’t be the only person that wouldn’t have known what to do in this type of situation," Chelsea tweeted.
"A couple of weeks ago, I was rushing to eat (steak) and I started choking. SERIOUSLY choking," she went on.
"It would not move up & I could not swallow.
"Luckily, Cole was home and he performed the Heimlich and was able to get it out! All I kept thinking about was WHAT IF I had been home alone?"
Scary stuff, and it sounds as though Chelsea is duly grateful to her husband for saving her life.
"As if Cole doesn’t have to deal with enough of my s–t already, he can now add saving my life from steak to that list," she joked.
Fans shared in Chelsea’s gratitude and admiration for Cole.
"Cole is legit just a non-human superhero," one follower replied.
We’re inclined to agree with that assessment.
But Chelsea didn’t share her story just so that fans could join her in marveling at Cole’s life-saving abilities.
Her tweets served as a reminder that there are over 5,000 choking deaths in America every year.
And many followers were grateful for the reminder to slow down and chew.
"Wow I never thought about this, thank you for potentially saving my life one day," one fan replied.
"Thank you for sharing!!" another wrote. "I don’t think people think of this as often as it should be!"
We’re almost as grateful to Cole as Chelsea is.
The Teen Mom 2 star hasn’t had the easiest time in 2019, and we’re sure the trauma of having her house broken into pales in comparison to a near-death experience.
Fortunately, she has Super Cole by her side to help her face any challenge.
