It hasn't even been two months since Vicki Gunvalson and Steve Lodge became engaged, but Vicki is already pushing him to set a wedding date.
This is more than just impatience to have her special day.
Vicki needs to set a wedding date that will fit with Bravo's filming schedule if she wants to remain the OG in the OC.
RadarOnline reports that Vicki Gunvalson is already pouring on the pressure for Steve to set a wedding date.
He only popped the question back in April, but insiders say that Vicki has been "pushing and pushing" him to schedule their nuptials.
"Just like everything else in her life," the source says. "Vicki has really been trying to control every aspect of her upcoming wedding to Steve."
"She fears that he will get cold feet," the insider explains.
The source continues: "which is why she is trying to make this wedding happen stat."
At this point, RadarOnline then repeats the rumor that Vicki ended up getting demoted.
See, back in May, fans worried that Vicki was dropped from The Real Housewives of Orange County after promo photos were taken.
Of the first images seen, Vicki was absent.
This seemed to indicate that, despite her negotiations and getting engaged, she was reduced to a mere "Friend" of the Housewives.
As we have reported, there is no confirmation of this alleged demotion.
"With Vicki getting demoted on the show," the insider begins.
The source continues: "they both know that they have to do this wedding in accordance with filming of season 15."
That would certainly add an unusual layer to wedding planning.
They will have to plan things for Season 15, the insider explains, "since season 14 is already wrapped."
Well, after they began filming in January, we would certainly hope so.
But the report says that fans shouldn't be surprised if Vicki manages to come out on top.
"Vicki will do just about anything to stay on housewives," the source affirms.
"And," the insider adds. "She has made this very clear to everyone."
Reports from the beginning of the year made that pretty obvious.
The claim was that she had promised, in negotiations to remain on the show, that she would become engaged in order to generate a storyline.
She has also reportedly acted as a holy terror on set to make sure that she's always at the center of drama.
That report is certainly interesting.
Vicki has assured fans that they don't know everything and should not believe rumors -- usual reality star stuff.
But she has also said emphatically that she will never be demoted to "just a friend."
Obviously, Vicki is not going to come out and admit her demotion -- especially if she's under an NDA.
But we have an alternative theory.
It may be that Bravo has seen all of the coverage of Vicki's struggle to stay on top, and is teasing fans by keeping them in the dark about her status.
Initial reports of Vicki's demotion were echoed by a couple of her colleagues.
(Tamra Judge expressed sorrow, while Kelly Dodd was practically dancing on the grave of Vicki's career)
That is not the same thing as confirmation, however.
We're leery of letting ourselves get strung along with this narrative only to discover that it was just Bravo trying to drum up hype and curiosity for Season 14.
We'll all find out the truth of Vicki's status soon enough.
