Matt Roloff would like to explain something.

Actually, Matt Roloff would like to explain a whole lot of somethings.

We’ll give him the space to do so in just a moment…

But confusion has been floating around the Little People, Big World universe for awhile now due to the unclear status of Roloff Farms.

Most of this past season has featured Matt and Amy arguing about the future of this property, with conversations turning rather ugly and heated at times.

At one point, Matt accused Amy of holding him hostage by dragging her feet on what she wanted to do with her portions of the farm.

At another point, Amy lashed out as Matt for being a liar and even a bully.

For ex spouses who have gotten along very well ever since their divorce, this has appeared to be the first real public schism between Amy and Matt.

It also appeared to have been resolved on the Little People, Big World finale when Amy said she agreed to sell some of the farm.

"This has been a huge, huge decision, and it’s probably caused me a lot of stress and a lot of anxiety and a lot of sadness," Amy said to the camera, adding simply:

"It was hard to get to this place, but I think it’s time."

The show was certainly implying that Amy was selling her half of the farm and just moving away.

HOWEVER, Oregon property records state that both Amy and Matt’s names remain on the deed — so what the heck is actually going on with this place?

Matt is clearly aware of this confusion and has decided to step in.

"Clarification! The Future of the farm!" he wrote as a somewhat emergent opening to his latest Instagram message, prior to delving into all the details.

"Sometimes people get so far astray of the truth we have to write direct messages to correct all the assumptions," he continued.

"We are getting quite a number of inquiries asking if we are still open for Pumpkin Season this fall. Answer is yes … pumpkin seeds went into the ground 3 days ago. :)).

"I don’t think people understand the buyout option… let me explain.. despite what you see on TV … I have chosen to buy (and Amy has chosen to sell) me only one side of the farm,

"At this time.. Not the original farmstead … not the side with the pumpkin patch or her house.. for now she is only selling me her partial share of ownership in the side (DW) that I live on."

Oh.

So this almost doesn’t sound like that big of a deal at all.

Both Amy and Matt still live and work on the farm; Matt just has some more freedom to makes change to a specific section of it due to this sale.

We understand TLC needed to sell viewers on some drama in order to garner ratings, but man. They made this sound like A LOT more was at stake this past season.

Matt went on to explain even more in his helpful post.

"She will remain in her house (and on the farm) and 1/2 owner of our original farm until she decides to leave," he wrote.

"At that time we will jointly work to sell the side she lives on together. This may happen in the future but it’s not happening yet!

"The only change (for now) is that I will take title to the DW and can decide to remodel it to be more accessible with a lower kitchen or walk-in shower like my home in Arizona."

So, again, to reiterate:

This all sounds exactly the same for the most part; certainly for any part that the public cares about.

Matt does conclude his post with an interesting supposition.

"The future may be different …but Now is Now …and this is where we are at this moment in time," he writes, concluding:

"Maybe one of the kids will eventually buy it?? Who knows."

Oooh, interesting!

The only real possibility for this purchase would be Zach Roloff, considering he’s the only Roloff offspring who still stars on Little People, Big World — and he did seem very sad this season about losing the farm.

For now, though, Matt and Amy are still occupying the farm and pumpkin season isn’t all that far away.

How exciting!
