In a preview teaser trailer, we saw a glimpse of Larissa’s deportation woes on this weekend’s episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?
But that trailer left out some things. Thankfully, this new sneak peek is picking up the slack.
After Azan canceled their romantic trip to Grenada at the last minute, Nicole’s family has a lot of concerns.
But Nicole is tuning them out (literally, you can watch her tune them out) and is looking on the bright side.
When she tells him how excited she is to see him, Azan’s response feels like a punch to the gut.
Whether you believe that Azan is a scammer or that they’re just star-crossed lovers, this sneak peek is heartbreaking.

Nicole calls Azan 01
“It’s been a couple of weeks since the trip to Grenada was canceled,” Nicole narrates at the beginning of this sneak peek. “I am a little disappointed because I was excited for it.”
Remember, Azan had a “family emergency”
He didn’t want to say what it was on camera or let anyone know, so he only told Nicole. Literally the day before they were supposed to have their romantic trip, he told her that he couldn’t do it.
Nicole had to tell her family
Her mother, Bobbalee, does her best to balance supporting her daughter with, you know, having eyes and a functioning brain. It’s natural that someone would be concerned that Nicole is being strung along.
Bobbalee lends some emotional support
“I am hoping for your sake that this is for real,” she tells her daughter. Meanwhile, by this point, Nicole has begun to look elsewhere.
In fact, can we talk about this for a moment?
This is the face of someone who is trying to tune out the entire world so that she doesn’t have to hear anything that she doesn’t want to. All that she says in response to her mother is a very impatient “okay.”
Even Nicole is getting a little antsy
“It’s frustrating that, you know, things happened with the trip getting canceled and his family emergency,” Nicole admits.
Side-note: look at how cute May is!!
May has her juice and is drawing and coloring and looks absolutely adorable. Somebody give this girl a commercial deal, stat! (But some fans would suggest maybe putting the proceeds in a trust so that they do not go to Morocco)
Nicole is SO disappointed
“All I wanted to do was see Azan,” she expresses. “And have our spark back.”
Nicole calls Azan
It sounds like it’s been weeks since they spoke on video chat — or, at least, a while. Azan does greet her very warmly with a “hey honey.”
She’s excited
“I can’t wait until he sees my purple hair,” Nicole tells the confessional camera. “It’s so pretty!” She’s absolutely right — it’s gorgeous.
Azan likes it
After Nicole tells him that he looks cute, he replies that he likes her hair.
She practically glows under his praise
Even if Nicole and Azan are 100% head over heels in love with each other, there are issues with their relationship — love is not enough, folks, and the person with a child should not have to be the one who is making all of the effort. But seeing her happily speaking to him is very cute in this moment.
She explains that she wanted a change
“That’s good to be different,” Azan observes. He’s not wrong. He also asks how May is, which is sweet.
So how is his family?
Without getting into any kind of specifics one way or the other, Azan makes it sound like things are okay.
“Thank God …” he begins
“Really,” Azan says. “Like, things are getting better now. Seems like everything’s good.” Vague, but promising!
Quick conspiracy theory moment
What if Nicole doesn’t know the family emergency? Something about the way that she says “that’s good, I was worried” makes it sound like she wants viewers to think that she knows more than she does.
But they’re keeping it a secret
Regardless of what Nicole does or does not know about Azan’s “family emergency,” she’s adamant that it’s not her family’s business. She has to know that keeping them in the dark just makes them more and more worried, right?
Azan says that he’s bummed, too
“I’m just sad that I didn’t get to see you,” Nicole tells him. Azan replies: “I wanted to go there, you know?”
Then it gets a little weird
“But things happen for a reason,” Azan says. Folks, that’s not a really good line for most people in most circumstances. In this case, it sounds like he’s attributing the cancelation to divine providence. But hey, at least he apologizes.
Nicole points out the silver lining
She says that she was able to get back SOME of the money she put into the Grenada trip, and speaks excitedly about putting that money towards her trip to Morocco.
And here’s where it gets BAD
We know that video chatting between continents has a delay, and editing may be partially at fault for this, but there is the longest imaginable pause after Nicole says that. And when Azan speaks again, he says the most unenthusiastic “yeah” we’ve ever heard. Oh no. …
