Little People, Big World Season 14 Premiere Recap: A Fight Over the Farm

by at .

Little People, Big World returned with new episodes on Tuesday night.

But the beloved TLC reality show looked very different than it has in the past, thanks to a pair of key losses:

Neither Jeremy Roloff nor Audrey Roloff will appear on Season 14, having stunned fans several months ago in announcing their departures from the program.

Zach and Tori Roloff Return

However, the focus of this Season 14 premiere wasn't necessarily on the current changes being undergone by the family or the series itself.

Instead, the installment centered on one major change possibly to come: Will Matt and Amy Roloff actually sell their farm?!?

This possibility has been a subject of debate among Little People, Big World fans for awhile now, considering Matt has a part-time home in Arizona and it simply seems as if many family members are ready to move on.

Will the rumor become a reality?

The topic was addressed many times on this premiere.

At the outset of the episode, both Amy and Matt updated viewers on their lives, explaining that their respective relationships are still going strong.

(Matt has been with Caryn Chandler, and Amy has been with Chris Marek, for well over a year now.)

With the divorced couple still living together on the farm, however, each admitted to contemplating the possibly of selling the property; it's a weird arrangement, after all, and their children have other business interests of their own.

"Several months ago I asked Amy what she wants to do with the farm," Matt told the camera as he helped prepared for his grandson's first birthday party.

"One of my frustrations is, you know, she's reluctant to make decisions often."

Amy took some exception to take on the situation, though.

"I'm just confused this whole major decision is on me," she told Matt, complaining to the cameras why it should be her choice to make the first move on a sale.

They may have been divorced since 2016, but they're in this one thing together, right?

"I just want to see motion. It doesn't have to be one big wrestling match, it can be done..." Matt told Amy, as tensions escalated after he reminded his ex-wife that he could just sell his half of the property and let her know in a letter, in accordance with their divorce settlement.

Ouch, right?

It was a bit unsettling to see these two bicker, as they've managed to navigate their split, their subsequent romances and their co-business very well over the past three years or so.

"I don't think it's going to be easy because I don't think he's going to like whatever I do," Amy confessed to the cameras as she was seen walking away from Matt at the end of this argument.

Later on, while cleaning the barn for Jackson's big celebrate, Matt and Zach discussed this same pressing top.

The latter seemed resigned to the fate of his family's farm during this chat.

"It's one of those things that time heals everything. And the more time that passes, the more, I'm at peace I am about it all," Zach told his mom, adding of his one-yea rold:

"Jackson's not going to care if we have the farm — it's such, like, a materialistic item ... literally life's going to go on."

Zach, who obviously adores his father, also placed some blame on Matt for the way everything has transpired here.

Tori and Zach Roloff on Jackson's Birthday

"I love my dad, but my dad doesn't feel like the family appreciates it," he said. We don't feel like he includes us. You know, it's his way or the high way... It's been like a sour point, too, for the family."

Amy didn't really disagree with this point, saying that she does believe Matt is done with farm life.

Zach, meanwhile, acknowledged that it isn't "healthy" for his divorced parents to continue living this way.

Indeed, changes do sound as if they are afoot.

"Divorce definitely threw me for a loop," Amy told the camera.

"And now the kids are moving on... you blink and they're gone. I think that the fame and the kids are what have held me here... I do have to make some sort of decision soon because if not I'll feel like I'm always in limbo still."

We'll conclude on a high note, however.

Little Jackson did turn a year old on the premiere and the Roloffs were easily able to shelve their farm-related concerns for the occasion.

The party featured the return of Jeremy, Audrey and Ember Roloff, as well as other members of the family that don't appear on the show as much any longer.

"I was so happy that they were able to come to Jackson's birthday party," Amy said, while Tori added:

"We're just trying to enjoy every party, every outside moment we can."

Little People, Big World airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on TLC.
