Samantha Markle very likely believes that George Clooney has a pretty face.
But the attention-starved sister of Meghan Markle would prefer if the actor kept his loud mouth shut for awhile.
A day after the actor took critics of the Duchess of Sussex to task for the way they've been treating Meghan and talking about Meghan, the leading voice of this critical movement fired back at Clooney.
“Hey Looney Clooney! Your lawyer wife should have taught you not to make statements without full facts,” Samantha tweeted on Wednesday, adding:
“I doubt #GeorgeClooney would ghost his mother for no legitimate reason. Be quiet Georgie.”
The reference here is to the allegation that Meghan Markle has ghosted her father, who is also the father of Samantha and who Samantha believes has been treated very unfairly.
Samantha Markle, of course, has attacked her half-sister in an endless array of interviews and social media messages over the past year or so.
She thinks Meghan is mean and phony and selfish for allegedly leaving her loved ones behind after she started dating Prince Harry.
At a Television Critics Association panel on Monday, meanwhile, Clooney spoke out in defense of Markle.
He compared the treatment she's been receiving of late to the way the press treated Princess Diana way back in the day, prior to that Royal icon being killed in a car accident.
(A car accident that was caused because Diana's car was being chased by the paparazzi, it should be noted.)
“They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere,” Clooney told members of the press. “She’s been pursued and vilified. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to see that.”
Markle has been trashed by her father and half-siblings -- but also by recent anonymous sources who continue to paint the pregnant Duchess as spoiled and insensitive and entitled.
They keep claiming she's to blame for a supposed feud between Markle and Kate Middleton.
“[Meghan is] a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself," Clooney continued.
“And we’ve seen how that ends," he added, citing Diana's tragic death.
Making it apparent that he follows the celebrity gossip world to some extent, Clooney also mentioned the letter Markle allegedly sent her dad last year.
This message that was obtained and published over the weekend by The Daily Mail.
You’re taking a letter from a daughter to a father and broadcasting it everywhere,” the Ocean’s Eleven actor noted. “She’s getting a raw deal there.
"It’s irresponsible. I’m sort of surprised by that.”
Following Princess Diana's death, before he was a global superstar, Clooney lashed out at the press for how their role in her passing.
“Princess Di is dead, and who should we see about that? The driver of the car? The paparazzi? Or the magazines and papers who purchased these pictures and make bounty hunters out of photographers?” Clooney said back in 1997.
"If you weren’t hiding behind the profession of journalism, you would be an accomplice to a crime, and you would go to jail."
Clooney had never met Diana, but he felt passionate about what happened to her.
He specifically called out Steve Coz, then the editor of the National Enquirer.
“What ethics! Your cover of your magazine this week says, ‘Di Can‘t Get Enough Sex.’ It’s on the stands still," he castigated over 20 years ago, adding:
"I also watch as you take your position on CNN, saying as long as there is a market for this, that you are just supplying the goods.”
Let's hope Clooney never has to make a speech like this after some tragedy that befalls Meghan Markle, right?
Folks really gotta lay off the former Suits actress.
She's due to give birth in a matter of weeks!
