Fatima Ali has provided fans with an update on her cancer diagnosis.

Sadly, however, it is not a positive one.

The former Top Chef contestant, whose personality and charm may her a fan favorite back on Season 15, shared with the world in October that was given a year to live by her doctors.

“The cancer cells my doctors believed had vanished are back with a vengeance in my left hip and femur bone,” wrote the 29-year old at the time, adding:

“My oncologist has told me that I have a year to live, with or without the new chemotherapy regimen."

To Ali’s amazing credit, she then tried to keep things light, despite having received the worst news one can receive:

I was looking forward to being 30, flirty and thriving. Guess I have to step it up on the flirting. I have no time to lose.”

Now, tragically, the former reality star has returned with news that is equally grave.

"I know it’s been ages since I posted and most may have figured out why," she wrote as a caption to the first photo in this article.

She then elaborate thusly:

"I’m sick and unfortunately I’m getting sicker. Right now all I need are prayers; prayers that are simple. I hope, because a wish is putting on too much responsibility on the other, that you will somehow find forgiveness in your big heart for whenever I must have hurt you."

It what may be the last message Ali is able to pass along, she concluded:

I thank you a million times over for when you have given me joy. I’ll try to keep everyone updated the best that I possibly can.

The chef, who is also a Chopped champion, was diagnosed in late 2017 with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare cancer affecting bone and soft tissue.

In February of 2018, she announced she was cancer-free after several rounds of chemotherapy.

However, in an October essay in Bon Appétit’s Healthyish, she opened up about the return of this disease.

"It’s funny, isn’t it?" she wrote bravely in this post, continuing as follows:

"When we think we have all the time in the world to live, we forget to indulge in the experiences of living. When that choice is yanked away from us, that’s when we scramble to feel."

Ali received an outpouring of support from the Top Chef community as this essay went public.

In response to this new update, Padma Lakshmi simply replied: “I’m coming boo! Hold on tight!”

A fellow season 15 contestant set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Ali’s culinary bucket list, and the campaign has raised more than $96,000 to date.

Our heart goes out to Ali, who concluded her courageous announcement in October as follows:

I am desperate to overload my senses in the coming months, making reservations at the world’s best restaurants, reaching out to past lovers and friends, and smothering my family, giving them the time that I so selfishly guarded before.

I was always deathly afraid of being average in any way. And now I desperately wish to have a simple, uneventful life.
