As previously reported, Kim Porter was laid to rest on Saturday.

The 47-year old mother of four, and the very serious ex-girlfriend of music mogul Diddy, passed away on November 15 and was mourned by hundreds of loved ones this weekend in Columbus, Georgia.

Her cause of death remains unknown.

Prior to the sad event, Diddy shared a photo of Porter - who he dated off and on for 13 years - on Instagram and wrote the following message:

Today we lay to rest our ANGEL. Her spirit lives on with us FOREVER!!! We thank you all for your prayers and support. You have no idea how much it means to us.

We thank GOD for all of you. #KimPorter.

The rapper then eulogized his beloved ex.

In audio obtained by TMZ, Diddy outlined his unique relationship with Porter and made a vows to their children:

Christian, D’Lila Star and Jessie James, along with Quincy (Porter’s son from a previous relationship whom Combs helped raise) and Justin and Chance (Combs’ children from his own other relationships).

"I just want to say to my kids, Justin, Christian, D’Lila, Jessie, Chance and the other man in the house, Quincy: Your mother instilled in me this, and I pledge in front of everybody right now that I will always be there for you,” said Diddy as the crowd applauded at the public funeral inside Cascade Hills Church.

He added:

“I will always take care of you."

Diddy and Porter split for good in 2007.

But the stars remained so close in the decade-plus that followed that they never even signed a formal custody agreement.

They were able to co-parent amicably and remain important figures in each other's lives long after their romantic relationship ended.

Diddy went on to elicit some laughter by saying as part of his tribute:

"To the girls especially, we about to enter some different type of times. I want you to be able to talk to me about everything, and I mean everything, and I mean everything."

We're pretty sure he meant sex.

"Some people in your life that’s gonna be irreplaceable,” Diddy said, adding:

“Kim, we gonna miss you so much. But I ain’t gonna miss you too much because I’m not gonna let your voice inside of me stop talking. I know you like to talk to me a lot once you get on those rants, and I just want you to know I’m gonna be listening."

The musician/producer also acknowledged the nature of his bond with Porter, by acknowledging that it couldn't really be described in typical terms.

But that fit Porter perfectly.

Explained Diddy:

"Anybody who knows Kim, she’s just a person that you vibe with, you know? I can’t put our relationship into a certain box. She always told me, seriously, she felt like God sent … her here to help me out. I’d be like, ‘Girl, what are you talking about?

"I didn’t really understand how to love and, you know, we went through some circumstances, my mother and my family, where we didn’t have a big family and all of that.

"She just really started breaking down the exterior of any shell that I put up."

Porter had wished Diddy a happy birthday just a week or so before she passed away.

On November 15, paramedics were called to Porter's home after a 911 call said the 47-year old had suffered a "cardiac arrest."

She had recently gotten over a case of pneumonia, but was still feeling sick, insiders have said.

Porter was pronounced dead at her home in Los Angeles before she could even be taken to a hospital.

"As time went on, our relationship took so many different changes, from being boyfriend and girlfriend to being lovers to being best friends to being just straight-up homies, like somebody that you know you can count on," Diddy said toward the end of his eulogy, concluding:

"And we just love y’all, we appreciate y’all, appreciate the family. To all the words that I’m forgetting, to anything I’m forgetting to say, we love you, Kim.

"Thank you."

We continue to send our condolences to Diddy and all of Porter's loved ones.
